Audit Presentations 2018

Congratulations to Dr Ryan Say, the 2018 winner of the Dr Dick Shanahan Perpetual Audit Award.

Competition was tough this year, there were six others very nearly taking that award from him, but he managed to see them all off.

Well done Ryan!

DRCOG Prize Medal

Congratulations to Dr Els Gillis who was awared the DRCOG prize medal for registering the highest score among first time candidates.

This is a tremendous achievement.  Well done to Els and to all who recently sat and passed the DRCOG examination.

Photographed below is a very happy Els at the awards ceremony.

Personal Development Day 2017

The scheme marks the end of the day release sessions each year with a personal development day.  Kate very kindly put together a fabulous day in Killorglin.

All gathered in Cappanalea to the choice of a number of activities - yoga, rock climbing, paddle boarding and hill walking.  Many partook in morning and afternoon activities with some opting for one or the other.  While the weather did not shape up so well there was no doubt that all thoroughtly enjoyed themselves.

The day was very nicely finished off with dinner in Sol y Sombra in Killorglin.  Happy Days!

Year 4 - 2017

Congratulations to the fourth year group who were nominated for Certificates of Satisfaction of Completion of Training at the Steering Committee Meeting in May.  All gathered in Killarney for a night out to celebrate with the group.

The South West GP training scheme is 10 years in operation and a cake was arranged to also mark this occasion. A great night out had by all.

Audit and Research Presentations 2017

A very exciting year for audit and research presentations.  Only a fraction of a score could separate the top two audits and the two research presentations couldn't be separated - a draw was called!

Well done to Dr Abimbola Akintola winner of the Dr Dick Shanahan Audit perpetual trophy.

Well done to Dr Clare Daly, Dr Padraig Connaughton, Dr Orla Crowley & Dr Fíona Coffey, Dr Tadhg Iarla Curran joint winners of the Dr Micheál Fanning Research perpetual award.

A collective well done to all the trainees and to the trainers and programme team who supported the projects throughout.
